"Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,"
(when you click on the words "brazen giant" you are shown the meaning the poet had in mind when she wrote the poem.)
She is comparing the Statue of Liberty to the Colossus statue of the ancient Greeks (which was said to be one of the wonders of the ancient world.
Line 2-
"With conquering limbs astride from land to land," (When you click on the bold words you see that she is again describing the Greek Colossus)
This another comparison of the original Colossus with this modern American colossus we call the Statue of Liberty.
